➀ Tasting Notes: Once again there is a trace of menthol present on the notably ripe aromas of poached plum, dark currant and warm earth. The succulent, round and denser medium weight flavors possess good power and volume, along with a velvety mid-palate texture that contrasts somewhat with the borderline rustic, firm and noticeably warm finale. This is very 2018 in style yet the natural muscle and imposing size of a typical Champonnets is present. This won't win any awards for refinement but then again, Champonnets rarely does. Worth a look if your taste runs to power Gevrey. --Burghound
